Blogging Safety

There seem to be a significant number of bloggers out there that are very concerned about their privacy/security. There is a fine line between publishing your opinion and offending employers/friends/family.

My question today goes a little beyond that. Any overlap that my personal and professional life has with my blog are a concern, but should bloggers be more worried? I would like to hear from anyone who has had their personal safety jeopardized because of a public web presence. This could cover anything from being stalked to being robbed.

  1. One of the reasons I pulled a blog post last week, and deleted a comment was there was something stalkerish the commenter had done that freaked me out.

  3. That’s unfortunate. It was a good post.

Probably a good move on your part, better to be pre-emptive than regret it later.

Do you know of anyone who as had it go further than that, and would like to share their story?
