Is it only me, or is there something really odd going on in the NFL?
First, the Dallas Cowboys give a huge raise to assistant Jason Garrett – making him the heir appearant to Wade Phillips, then Indianapolis Colts named Jim Caldwell as the eventual replacement for Tony Dungy and finally Mike Holmgren announces his retirement NEXT year, and the Seahawks name his successor – Jim Mora.
Somehow this all seems really strange to me. I can’t remember a team EVER naming a successor to a coach a year in advance, and here we have three teams essentially doing just that. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Will this help the teams transition, or will it cause dissension? I guess we will see, but feel free to comment if you have an opinion.
